What is Human Design?

The second ring outside the zodiac signs are 64 numbered gates not in numerical order. And the third outer circle show the 64 I Ching symbols all around next to the correlating gate number. Human Design is a relatively modern system that draws from various esoteric traditions, astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, and the chakra system. It was developed by Ra Uru Hu in 1987 and is based on the idea that each person has a unique design, a blueprint for their life, which can help them understand themselves better and make decisions that are in harmony with their true nature.

One of the key components of Human Design is the concept of “Inner Authorities.” These authorities are the internal mechanisms that guide you in making decisions, and the Emotional Inner Authority is one of the most common and significant types.

Identifying Your Emotional Inner Authority

Your Emotional Inner Authority is the emotional center within you that guides you in making decisions. To identify your Emotional Inner Authority, you can refer to your Human Design chart. You’ll need your birth date, time, and location to generate your personal chart. Online resources and Human Design experts can help you with this.

Once you have your chart, look for your defined (colored in) or undefined (white) emotional center. If it’s defined, this means you have a consistent Emotional Inner Authority. If it’s undefined, you will rely on other centers or authorities for decision-making. For this blog’s purposes, we will focus on those with a defined emotional center.

Honing Your Emotional Inner Authority

  1. Embrace Your Emotions: The first step in harnessing your Emotional Inner Authority is to recognize the power of your emotions. Your emotional waves are not your enemy but rather your guiding force. Emotions provide valuable information about whether a decision is right for you or not. So, when faced with a choice or dilemma, pay close attention to how you feel. Do you feel excited, calm, or anxious? Your emotions are your compass. I always recommend writing down your emotions. See point 3.
  2. Wait for Clarity: Unlike some other decision-making authorities, the Emotional Inner Authority requires time. You might need to wait for your emotional wave to settle before making a choice. This may be hours, days, or even weeks. Avoid making impulsive decisions in the heat of the moment. Let your emotions ebb and flow, and only act when you have clarity.
  3. Journal Your Emotions: Keeping a journal can help you track your emotional responses to various decisions and situations. This not only aids in recognizing patterns but also allows you to look back and see how your emotions have guided you in the past. Over time, you’ll become more attuned to your unique emotional wave.
  4. Avoid Outside Pressure: It’s essential to shield yourself from external influences when waiting for your emotional clarity. Others might pressure you to make a quick decision, but you should stay true to your process. Explain your need for time to those close to you and ask for their understanding and support.

Breaking Free from Paralysis

By understanding your Emotional Inner Authority and applying it to your decision-making process, you can break free from the paralyzing frustration that often accompanies difficult choices that come from your Not Self / Ego acting instead of your Higher Wise Self.

When you honor your emotional response, you’ll notice that your decisions align more closely with your authentic self. This alignment can lead to a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

In conclusion, Human Design offers a unique approach to decision-making, one that encourages a deep connection with your emotions. By recognizing and embracing your Emotional Inner Authority, you can find the guidance and clarity needed to navigate life’s challenges and choices. Remember, it’s okay to wait for the right emotional wave, and in doing so, you can release yourself from the frustrating grip of indecision and move forward with confidence.
